About Cameron Mitchell
I am an Associate Lawyer with Savage Oykhman Law, and I work at our Edmonton Branch. Savage Oykhman Law is a full-service criminal defence firm with central offices across Western Canada and Ontario.
I have been a Criminal Defence Lawyer since 2015. Throughout my career I have appeared at all levels of court. I’ve found success in everything from traffic court, up to the Alberta Court of Appeal. I regularly conduct bail hearings, trials, sentencing hearings, Charter applications, and conviction/sentencing appeals.
Through my years of experience, and my keen eye for legal arguments, I am able to assist various types of individuals who are charged with various types of offences.
My Approach to Advocacy
I offer a client-focused service for the individuals that I represent. Communication is key, and diligent communication with my clients is one of my strongest assets. I take time to ensure that I share my years of experience and intimate knowledge of the criminal justice system with my clients, so that they always know what is going on and what they can expect.
I am fortunate to work with a strong team of lawyers at Savage Oykhman Law. Our practice is collaborative, and we all work hard to ensure that all of the clients represented by Savage Oykhman Law end up with the best possible result for their situation.
I was born and raised in the city of Spruce Grove, just outside of Edmonton. I graduated from Spruce Grove Composite Highschool, and then attended the University of Alberta for the beginning of my undergraduate education. Eventually, I transferred to the University of New Brunswick where I completed my Bachelor of Arts, graduating with distinction.
I moved back to Edmonton for Law School, and I graduated from the University of Alberta in 2014 with my Juris Doctorate. After graduating, I articled under Kathryn Quinlan at Royal & Company. The primary focus of my articles was criminal defence law, and the passion that was instilled in me for criminal defence law has never left.
After completing my articles, I remained with Royal & Company for three years, where I practiced as a criminal defence lawyer with Peter Royal (Q.C.). In 2018, I moved on from Royal & Company and I went to work with Paul Moreau at Moreau & Company. Once again, I was afforded the opportunity to work and learn from some of the most brilliant minds in Alberta in the area of criminal defence. I have since then taken everything that I have learned and applied it to my current practice when assisting clients at Savage Oykhman Law.
