About Danielle Boisvert
Having been born and raised in Edmonton, I have strong roots in this city and province. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2000. After a few years working in the private sector, I went to law school knowing that I wanted to be a criminal defence lawyer. I attended Queen’s University Law School as they offered many courses in criminal law and supervised the Queen’s Legal Aid clinic, which offers legal services to low-income residents. I volunteered and worked for Queen’s Legal Aid in all three years of law school, obtaining the Robinson-Ryan Award for service in my final year of law school in 2007. Since being licensed to practice law in Alberta in 2008, I have represented over 2000 clients in all three levels of court in Alberta. Currently I am on the executive board for the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association in Edmonton, Alberta.
My philosophy is to empower my clients to make informed decisions about their matters by providing objective research-based legal opinions. To that end, I stay on top of developments in my field of practice by continually reviewing court decisions, attending seminars and conferences, and keeping informed of developments to the Criminal Code and related statutes.
